Thanks to the web we can now all freely express our views on anything and at any time. Let us boldly but with discipline ( as gauged by generally accepted standards of morality and humanity ) exercise our basic human right of responsible expression. This is a tall order but I do hereby pledge my dedication to this high ideal which is the pillar of democracy.
This is also my earnest wish for all global citizens who subscribe and aspire to the ideal of a free and democratic society in this - my first post - at the inauguration of my first solo blog herewith.

Are we not all the victims of Greed, one way or the other? However, some hurt others but some don't. The US Corprate greedy gurus are definitely the former. If they had broken any law, they should unquestionably be held accountable to the committed crime.
ReplyDeleteHow can we help in current FT saga? Mega economic assistance by the governments has been widely covered. However, we should do our bit in a small way as well. Stick to our routine and spend normally. It is us, in joint effort, to make the economic wheel turn.
Personally, I find financial assistance given by so many governments to those sunk enterprises defeating the purpose and questionable, to say the least. Right from the start, when US government decided to assist all US financial institutes except Leemann Brothers to pouring billions of dollars to uncompetitive auto industry, these may point to one direction of Protectionalism which is much more worrying to mankind. As this big P could result in a big W which is WAR as experienced in the past. US Congress has already indicated that all assisted enterprises must use Local products!!!Did Obama repudiate it straight away? He has been silent without comment!!! Is another turmoil to the world sprouting out from the already damaging situation? That will be back to square one of 'Greed'.
Last but not the least, I must congratulate Joseph to have set up this forum and thank him for all his works done in writing up so many papers of relevance for our participation.
